Gaillardia pulchella - otherwise known as Indian Blanket, Firewheel, and Girasol Rojo… is a gorgeous, heat tolerant plant that is often seen and enjoyed along roadsides in the American Southwest. This sweet little floral study was something of a surprise to me. My intent was to focus on the beauty of the flowers, while letting the abstracted nature of the foliage hold them firmly forward, and into the light. A burst of sunshine to be enjoyed wherever she lives.
